The Sequoia Yacht Club Junior Program Mission is to:

The Keel Boat Programs

Sequoia Yacht Club offers its keel boat program to Juniors and Adults alike.  The Santana 22’s are well known for their stability and speed in the bay.

Junior Sailor may choose to sign up for a full or ½ day course taught in Santana 22’s.  It will be attractive for beginner and more advanced sailors between 9 and up.  These larger more stable boats do not capsize and are sailed by 4 to 6 sailors.  For sailors who prefer to always stay on top of the water, the keel boat class is ideal.

At the successful completion of this class the Jr. Member may check out a Club a Santana 22 with an experienced parent / guardian or Senior Club Member on board.

American Sailing Association (ASA) Certification in Basic Keelboat and Basic Coastal Cruising is available for Junior and Adult members.

One of the Adult programs is designed for woman only.  The Woman’s Sailing Program starts out using the Santana 22’s as its first introduction to Sailing, then moves on to other boats for docking, man-overboard and sail trim training.
