The 2011 race season concluded on Saturday, October 15 with the South Bay Championship. The regatta this year was run as two windward-leeward races. Eleven boats sailed in this last event of the season.

The conditions couldn't have been better. The first race started on-time at 12:30 and the course was S/F - Sp - 3p - Sp - 3p - S/F for a total of 5.96 nautical miles. At the end of the first race there was a short break before the start of race #2. The second race was only a single ciruit of S/F - Sp - 3p - S/F for a total of 2.98 nautical miles.

Congratulations to Dare Dare (Nico Popp) for taking first place in the South Bay Championship spinnaker division with first place wins in both races, and to Iowa (Rick Dalton) for taking first place in the non-spinnaker division, also with first place wins in both races.

Congratulations also goes to Smokin' J (Stan Phillips) and to Pizote (John Ryan) for taking second and third place in the spinnaker division, and to Timbuktu (Dan Doud) and Linda Carol (Ray Collier) for taking second and third place in the non-spinnaker division.

Results for Race #1, Race #2 and the overal Series Standings are posted on the Sequoia Web Site and on the bulletin board at the club.

Big thanks to Winston Bumpus and Dolci Sogni for providing the committee boat, and to our Commodore Joseph Curtis for assisting. Special thanks also goes to Michele Hartman and to everyone who helped make the Racer's Ribs dinner a great close to our season. All in all it was a full day of racing and celebration.
