Community

The Club has a long history of community service and involvement with Redwood City, the Port, and other groups.

A sample of activities include:

Conservation

The Club is dedicated to protecting the marine environment, which includes participation in Coastal Cleanup Day each year since 2011. Club members, plus, family, friends, local students, and members of the business community meet at the clubhouse and fan out in all directions to clean the entire marina area. Each year, hundreds of pounds of trash and recyclables are removed. The Club also encourages members to participate in the California Coastal Commission’s Dockwalker program. These seminars train individuals to spread the word on environmental best practices.

Build-A-Bike Program

Since 2013, the Club has run an annual Build-A-Bike program during the holidays. Members donate new bicycles and then work together to assemble them, and deliver the completed bikes to a local charity.

PICYA

The Club is a member of the Pacific Inter-Club Yacht Association and is an active participant in their annual Leadership Conferences.

Hannig Cup

The Club hosts the annual Hannig Cup, a charity event that has raised millions of dollars for local non-profit and community organizations.
